Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Brett Tyler Crabtree can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Brett Tyler Crabtree

Brett Tyler Crabtree, an Account Representative for Aqua Products and resident of Jacksonville, AL, died unexpectedly on August 14, 2021, at the age of 34 from natural causes. 

Brett is survived by his parents, Milo J. and Donna Crabtree, Debi Jones Miles; his brother and sister-in-law, Brooks and Valarie Crabtree; niece and nephew, Bella Crabtree, and Cooper Crabtree; and his step grandparents, Clint, and Anita Brantley.

He is predeceased by his grandparents, William E Crabtree, Sr., Mary Jane Bonham Crabtree, James Jones and Earlene Bergman.

Brett was born in Hattiesburg, MS on April 7, 1987, to Milo J. Crabtree and Debi Jones Miles. He graduated from Starkville Academy 2006, then attended Hinds Community College and East MS Jr. College. Brett was a devoted son, brother, friend and co-worker.  Brett had many passions in life.  He treasured his senior High School year at Starkville Academy as he played both wide receiver and defensive back helping to bring home the State Championship win. Brett’s loves and passions included basketball where he played point guard through high school, MS State Football, watching great movies with his Mom, his music, Mobile Mardi Gras (Mystic Stripers) and being the best dancer at the party.  He always lit up the room with his great smile and personality.  Brett had a strong personality and took pride in his debating skills no matter what subject was up for discussion.  He and his dad debated at lengths over who was the Best “NBA” player of all times. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew and loved him. 

The visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the memorial service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made through The Mississippi State University Foundation, and designated for the Brett Tyler Crabtree Memorial Fund, or checks payable to the MSU Foundation Incorporated mailed to P O Box 6149, MS State, MS 39762.
