Condolence From: P C McLaurin Jr
Condolence: Anil, I was saddened to learn of Kris' death. He was a fine man and a good colleague of mine. I enjoyed my years in the MSU Political Science Department with him. We even shared an office on the first floor of George Hall for a couple of years. He cared about his colleagues and his students. Every student of his I ever met had nothing but good things to say about him. Also, I enjoyed the limited time I spent around your mother before her untimely death. My wife Barbara and I wish the very best for you and your family in this time of grief.

Condolence: Dr. Bhansali turned my academic life and many of my personal beliefs around at State during the mid-70's after I was lucky enough to take several of his poli sci classes.

His erudition combined with the genuine care he had for his students changed both my personal mindset and my worldview greatly for the better.

The personal experiences of his life that he melded with his classroom teaching made his classes both emotionally and intellectually stimulating and challenging.

And even the simple fact that he was an immigrant, particulary one from India who, at that time in Mississippi, was not particularly welcomed by a majority of Mississippians, profoundly, beneficially and permanently changed many of the perceptions with which I had been raised as white in Mississippi.

Dr. Kris inspired me to finish undergrad at State, then law school and to practice law representing particularly the underprivileged and indigent for the past several decades.

His life was a blessing to me and, I'm sure, to many others. Though he has now gone to his next reward, many of his admirers such as I will keep both his labors and his memory alive.

Rest in Peace, Dr. Bhansali. You earned it. Thank you for what you did for me.
