Obituary for Herman R. Ware

Herman R. Ware
Herman R. Ware, 83 of Starkville, MS, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 6, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Donna T. Ware; children, Cynthia J. Ware and H. Douglas Ware and his wife Kim; Doug and Kim’s children and their spouses, Cody and Ashley, who gave him three and a half great grandchildren, Hattie, Hudson, Hayden and Hunter (due in July), and Lauren and Lane Sansing, and their twins, Mac and Mason. Herman is also survived by his older sister, Alice Edwards of Monroe County.

Herman was born in Houston, Mississippi on September 11, 1939 to Cassy Pascal and Lucille Ware. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1957. He worked hard to earn his way through Itawamba Junior College and Mississippi State University to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture in 1961. After working briefly in the landscaping industry, he changed industries to work for the Social Security Administration. He worked for the Social Security Administration for 32 years, retiring in 1998 to work for Ware Landscape Service with his son, Doug. In the early 1970’s, he was ordained as a Deacon at Clarksdale Baptist Church.

Herman and Donna were married for more than 60 years, raising two children in the knowledge of God and setting an example of living in a personal relationship with God. Both of their children and Doug’s wife have a personal relationship with God, as do Herman’s grandchildren.

His family and friends miss him but we know he is in Heaven, and those who have a personal relationship with Jesus will see him again when we graduate from this life to Heaven too.

Visitation will be held at Welch Funeral Home, 201 W. Lampkin St., Starkville, MS, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville.
