Obituary for
James Harvey Doss
Mr. James Harvey Doss, 91, passed away at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
James Harvey was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and a retired drill operator with B&W.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Doss Brewer; father, James Andrew Doss; and sister, Gurtis Mae Doss.
Mr. Doss is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lera Dae Chenney Doss of Maben, MS; son, Phillip Doss (Yvonne) of Maben, MS; daughter, Jan Doss Wells of Maben, MS; sister, Opal Long of Louisville, MS; and brother Talton Doss (Ruby) of Maben, MS; 4 grandchildren, Tracy Hudson (Scott) of Franklin, TN; Clayton Doss (Kelly) of Florence, MS; Melanie Hollingsworth (K.C.) of Alexandria, AL; and Kemberly Wells of Starkville, MS; 3 great grandchildren, Baylor and Ali Hudson; Grayson, Carlyle and Lawson Doss; and Austin and Avery Hollingsworth as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Doug Thompson, Jr., Bobby Thompson, Erle Chenney, Clayton Doss, Scott Hudson and K. C. Hollingsworth.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Cantrell, Red Salley, Billy Joe Long, Tommy Ballard and Shane Reed.
Visitation for Mr. Doss will be on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Midway Church of Christ in Maben from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Midway Church of Christ conducted by Bro. Bobby South, Bro. Dan Beardain, and Bro. James Hill with burial to follow at Maben Memorial Gardens.
