Obituary for Jimmy S. Willcutt

Jimmy S.  Willcutt
Jimmy S. Willcutt (Papaw), 79, passed away on December 23, 2021 at his residence in Starkville, MS. He was retired from Mississippi State University.

Jimmy was a devoted Christian man. He was a member of Church of Christ, the M-Club, the Bulldog Club and the Starkville Country Club 1:00 Group. He was a former baseball player for Mississippi State University and an avid golfer. He enjoyed MSU baseball in Left Field Lounge.

He was married for 60 years to Veria Dell Snowden Willcutt. They set an example of love and marriage for their children and others to follow. He loved his family and grandchildren beyond measure, they were a source of great pride for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James S. Willcutt and Louise Gunter Willcutt.

He is survived by his wife, Dell Willcutt of Starkville, MS; sons, Jim Willcutt (Gay) of Starkville, MS, and Scott Willcutt (Noel) of Pegram, TN; brother, Sammy Willcutt (Nancy) of Starkville, MS; and grandchildren, Bree Anne McMinn, Garland Willcutt, Ashleigh Willcutt, Cameron Willcutt; and three great grandchildren, Natalie Anne McMinn, Newt William McMinn, and Sylvie Kate McMinn.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. James Willcutt will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville.
