Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Marylin Winters can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Marylin Thompson Winters died at her home on 06/08/18 in Maben, Mississippi. Marylin was preceded in death by her: father Howard Thompson, mother Mary Eunice Thompson, brother and sister in-law Kenneth and Della Thompson, brother in-law LJ Brewer, and sister in-laws Debbie Winters and Gwen Thompson.
Marylin is survived by her: husband of fifty-six years, Sonny Winters of Maben, daughter and son in-law Aprile and Tom Coker of Caledonia, grandchildren Josh and Jake Coker of Caledonia, sister and brother in-law Shelby and Jimmy McMinn of Starkville, brother Glen Thompson of Ackerman, and brother in-law Steve Winters of Grenada.
Marylin was retired from Mississippi State Extension Service of Starkville. She was an active of member of Center Grove Baptist Church and was a supporter of Palmer Home of Columbus. Her wishes were that in lieu of flowers donations would be made to the Columbus Palmer Home. She was a strong believer and supporter of the Mississippi Homemakers Association through the Extension Service and the 4H Club. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved and enjoyed all her extended family. She loved showing horses with her husband and attending Team Pennings with her family and friends. Marylin was also an excellent cook according to her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed, but we find great comfort and rejoice in knowing that she has gone to her true home in heaven with the Lord and her loved ones that have gone before her.
Services will be held Tuesday June 12th, 2018 at Welch’s Funeral Home in Starkville, Mississippi. Visitation is from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, and the funeral services at 1:00pm..
