Letters to share

I'm so sorry to learn of Scott's passing. We had communicated with Christmas cards and he and Millie often sent MSU cheese balls to my mother and I. The last time we spoke was about 10 years ago - both he and Millie were on the line and we talked about dogs and opera.

Scott and Millie were dear dear friends of my grandparents - Robert and Irene Roberts. Scott and my grandfather served in the Army together and were stationed at Ft. Benning at the same time.  During my summer visits to Montgomery to see my grandparents, often Scott and Millie would visit. Perry came once  with them and we played the pachinko machine for hours.

My grandmother kept a treasure trove of letters sent to her over the years. I was just looking through them and I have several written from Mille to her. One from the 60's but mostly from the 70's. I'm sure they are full of day to day thoughts and family happenings from those days. Is there some family member I can send them to?

I am happy to picture Scott and Millie together again.... having lunches and dinners in heaven with my grandparents.

With love - Gretchen
