Robert Floyd  Cini
Robert Floyd Cini, age 69, of Starkville, MS returned to his heavenly home on August 2, 2019. Originally from Iron Mountain, MI, he spent his high school years in Savanna, IL, and later graduated from Quachita Baptist University in Arkansas while on a football scholarship. In 1972, he married Peggy Jo Breuning of Savanna, IL before entering the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 23 years of honorable service which included duties as an aviation, armor, and logistics officer. His last active duty assignment was The Professor of Military Science at Mississippi State University. He had an unwavering love for this country and an unconditional and selfless love for his family. After retirement, he taught Junior ROTC at Starkville High School and held multiple military contractor positions in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Peggy Cini, his three children, Kerri (Bo) Irby, Matthew (Shannon) Cini and Aaron (Courtney) Cini, and five grandchildren: Kendall Cini, Ross Cini, Amelie Cini, Carson Cini, and Reagan Irby. He is also survived by his mother Gladys Cini of Savanna, IL, one sister Deborah Cini of Davenport, Iowa and one brother Michael Cini of Castle Rock, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father Amedeo Cini and one brother Norman Cini.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday August 6, 2019 from 10:00 am -11:00 am at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Starkville, with a funeral mass at 11:00. Burial will take place in the church columbarium following the funeral mass.
