Stanley Dale “Stan” Hamilton

On Wednesday September 12, Stanley Dale “Stan” Hamilton peacefully passed away at his home while being surrounded by family and friends. Stan was born September 17, 1953 to Travis Stanley and Gladys (McKee) Hamilton. He always considered Douglastown Rd in Maben home but lived in Memphis, Macon, Ms and Lauderdale, Ms.

Stan took great pride in being a local business owner. He opened Diversified Health Services in 1988. He was honored to service the citizens of Oktibbeha and surrounding counties with their home medical equipment needs. Stan owned and operated Diversified Health Services from 1988 until he sold it 10 years ago when he retired to his ranch in Maben, Ms.
Stan also was a local rancher who raised cutting horses and bucking bulls. He traveled the country exhibiting his horses in National Cutting Horse Association competitions. While doing this, Stan won many awards and accolades. He finished 8th in the world in the Non Professional class in 1998. He also campaigned a bucking bull to win the Southern Pro Bull Riding Bull of the Year.

Stan was preceded in death by his father Travis Stanley Hamilton.

Stan is survived by his mother, Gladys McKee Hamilton; two sisters Sue (David) Peacock of Mathiston and Barbara Warren of Madison, Ms. He also has two sons, Josh (Krystan) Hamilton of Starkville and their two kids Jana Claire and Jacob, Clint (Dana) Hamilton of Vicksburg and their sons Travis Charles, Thomas Myers, Candler and one unborn son.

Stan had a love for life and enjoyed helping others. His greatest passions in life were his family, friends, livestock, his grandchildren, his Ole Miss Rebels and bringing joy into the lives of everyone that knew him.

A funeral service will be held Saturday September 15, 2018 at Center Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Horsemen for Christ, P.O. Box 9524, Wichita Falls, TX, 76308.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Lance Dillon, Bryan Templeton, Russ Huddleston, Bobby Taylor, Byron Norman, Brantley Jackson, Jeffrey Jamison, and Art Sanchez.
