Obituary for Randall Charles "Randy" Warren

Mr. Randall (Randy) Charles Warren, 66 of Bradley, MS passed away at his residence on Friday, September 19, 2014.

Randy was born in Petal (Forest County), MS and was the son of Charles Ralph Warren of Selma, AL; and Vera K. Davidson Hopkins of Meridian, MS. He graduated from Miss. State University with a B.S. in Forestry and M.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries. He completed course work and research for Ph.D in botany. He performed environmental impact studies for the U.S. Forestry Service. He was an avid turkey, duck and quail hunter. He followed the Bulldogs six times to Omaha to the College World Series, most recently in 2013,

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, friend and mentor to many graduate students. Randy was the first to identify several endangered plants in the area and to document the nest of the red crossbill at the Noxubee Refuge.

He is survived by his wife Vicky Harrison Warren of Bradley, MS; son, Harrison Randall Warren of Starkville, MS; sisters, Delena Davidson Barrett of Meridian, MS; Ginger Warren of Boulder, CO and a brother, Melvin David Warren of Marion, MS.

Visitation for Randy will be held Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 5-7 at Welch Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Palmer Home for Children, P. O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39703.
