Graydon Edward Elliott was born May 3, 1942 in Purvis, MS and went to be with his Lord on February 1, 2021, at OCH Regional Medical Center after a battle with sepsis combined with COVID pneumonia. Ed will be remembered for his love of God, his family and friends, his enjoyment of motor home travels and all things Mississippi State.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 5th, at First Baptist Church. A private burial service will be held at a later date.

Ed was a graduate of Purvis High School. He received a BS in animal science from Mississippi State University where he was a member of the Scabbard and Blade. He was commissioned into the US Army in 1965. After Ed's military service, he began a 25 year career with the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service (MCES) where he served as an assistant county agent, an area livestock specialist, and leader of the computer services department. He received a MS degree from Louisiana State University in 1973 and an EdD from Mississippi State in 1985. Upon retirement from MCES, Ed joined National Bank of Commerce as Assistant VP in charge of their computer services and later retired for good in 2004.
Ed was an active member of the Lions Club in Laurel, MS. He was later an active in the Starkville Kiwanis Club serving in various positions including president. Ed served as a deacon of his church in Laurel and in Starkville. He also served as a Sunday School teacher for 48 years.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Omer Lee and Vida Mae Fowler Elliott of Purvis. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joann Johnson Elliott, one daughter, Karilynn Elliott Horner (Kevin) of Maryville, TN, one brother Harlan O Elliott of Tonganoxie, KS, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two "fur-companions", BooRadley and Titus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts may be made to the Children's Building Fund, First Baptist Church, Starkville, MS.
