Condolence From: Patricia Y. Nicholas
Condolence: Our family has always known the Patterson family as we all grew up together in Longview. I am so saddened at the death of Ms. Louise. We talked on the phone frequently these last few years, mostly about family and our days in Longview. She was a very special person whose life leaves memories that will be cherished by her family and the many friends who loved her. Charles and I regret that we cannot be present for her service. We offer sympathy, much love and blessings to her family at this difficult time. Pat (Yeatman) Nicholas (Lawrence, KS)

Condolence: There are many memories of Ms. Louise; the trip that she, my mother[Freddie] Nancy, Ginger, Bobby, and me took to visit George and Debbie in New Mexico. Now we were in Nancy's GMC that had a camper shell thing over the back. People have to really get along to go from Miss. to New Mexico in just tight quarters! But we all had the best time and I will always recall the enjoyment on Ms. Louise's face as we passed through parts of the U.S. toward New Mexico. There wasn't a time that I didn't see Ms. Louise in years passed that she didn't want a hug from me; she always made me feel special regardless of my shortcomings. I hope she gets to chat with my Big Ma when she gets to heaven.

Condolence: Being George Johnson's Mother, making me Debbie's mother-in-law; the old joke is that sometimes mother-in-laws don't get along. But when it came to Louise and me, that wasn't our relationship. We were cut from the same bolt of cloth; knowing how it felt to milk the cows before going off to school, and then into the fields after school. I was fortunate enough to spend this year's Thanksgiving in the company of Louise, in Debbie and George's lovely home; where they had the entire family in for the celebration. Louise and myself talked about how different it was back "in the day" of the many family gatherings around sturdy old and scratched family tables; sort of bemoaning the hard work, but then recalling the calmness of falling off to sleep to the sound of crickets chirping on a spring night. I will miss my friend, but I know she is where joy is ever lasting.

Condolence: Our prayers are with your family during this difficult time. When Mrs. Patterson and my mother lived at Chatteau Maroon, Mrs. Patterson would stop by for visits and was always a very kind and pleasant person.
